Some girl bought these four. She was very nice. Her selection was interesting. I like it when people make good choices out of the hundreds of napkin arts I have available. Some pick better than others.
Hardly anybody makes frivolous choices, though, because they are coughing up five bucks for each one.
Five bucks for original art is a drop in the bucket, but every once in a while I get people saying that I charge too much. Amazing, isn't it? It takes over an hour at least to make each one, so I deserve $5 an hour.
Many people do want a discount if they buy several. I'm usually cool if they buy four, then they can get one free. That works out to be $4 each.
When they offer me 3 for $10, or $3 each, I tell them to go away. I consider it an insult.
I have heard it a couple of times from the business community that, "you should never negotiate price with an artist". I like that a lot, because it means, "if you like the art, buy it. If you don't like the art, don't buy it."
Yeah, I really hate negotiating over price with people, especially over $5. That is sad. I hate doing it. I've already made the price as low as I can go. I think $5 each is more than fair, and I am actually hurting myself, and underselling myself as it is.
The deal I like the best is when they cough up five bucks and buy me a beer to go along with it.
