This is a work in progress.  As you can tell, I'm not a big fan of poets.
At the bar I go to at night, there are these poets that gather several times a week.  They talk more than they write.
They do their little reading that nobody outside of their little circle cares about, and then they get drunk at the bar and talk smack for hours.

From my perspective, they are poor and don't have money to buy my napkin art, so why should I care about them?  I wouldn't sell to them anyhow, even if they did have money, because they are such a pain to listen to.
They say I am making my art just to get attention, but that is exactly what they are doing with their loud talk.
There is one woman that I have to listen to every night with her droning, and carrying on.  She gets so drunk, I don't even know how she is still alive.  I've seen her get smashed every night for years.

Anyway, I had fun drawing this one up, in the form of a Magic The Gathering card.
I like doing this from time to time, and every once in a while, a napkin art like this will sell to somebody who gets the joke.

While I am thinking about this, blogging is a labor of love as much as making art.  I do it because I love to, and in common with art, I don't really get paid.
Well, that's not true anymore...I actually do sell my art.
Maybe the day will come when I will get paid for my blogs.  I have generated about $45 worth of income from blogging, but I have to file a tax return.  I think you have to generate $100 before Google will pay you anyways.
The working man always gets screwed over, I've learned that lesson well.
However, if one of my blogs is a success, then I will eventually get compensated, and that is what I am going for.

To wind this up, a young man around age 22 said, "The poets in The Mission are much better than the North Beach ones."
I would have to agree.  Old men fluffing up their feathers with poetry that contains an agenda is not a pretty sight.
These North Beach poets want to be rock stars, but I don't see it happening ever.
I think for the most part that poets are lazy people who don't want to learn an instrument or write fiction, which requires a lot of work.
A lot of poets I've studied also did artwork, but these North Beach poets don't draw.  They just sit there and gab away for hours, and spill their drinks onto the floor.
